RESORT PREVIEW: LOON MOUNTAIN
Ah, how fast the winter flies by. The 2012 Oakley Progression Sessions will make its fourth and final stop at Loon Mountain, NH this weekend March 24-25. The campers will be greeted by pro riders Gretchen Bleiler, Ellery Hollingsworth, Kristi Leskinen, and Silvia Mittermuller and will be coached by them the entire weekend.
Loon is the prime mountain for ending the Progression Session season. Known for consistently building one of the best parks in the U.S., being a top venue for Snowboarder Magazine’s notorious Superpark event and always having a excellent park crew – Loon is definitely leading the game in progression within the resort world.
Similar to many mountains, Loon doesn’t lack in parks or terrain that are suitable for all riding levels. They’ve recently expanded their parks, adding a brand new medium park dubbed Dropline. In addition, they have four more parks open ranging from small to large features. Is anyone frothing at the mouth yet? That’s what we thought.
Furthermore, Loon Mountain is also recognized for hosting some of the favorite events on the East Coast due to their immaculate park set ups such as Eastern Boarder’s Last Call, Hard Day’s Night, and a massive season ender Street Cred.
The last stop for the Oakley Progression Sessions is sure to leave a lasting impression on the girls participating. Rumor is, Loon is also home to the best breakfast sandwich on the planet…the Egg McLoon and really, who can deny a delicious breakfast sando?
